TOP 9 NATURAL METHODS AGAINST BAD BREATH - DR.BRIGHT
The problem everyone wants to get rid of: Bad breath is quite common. It affects between 5% and 15% of the French. But contrary to what people think, it is not generally linked to digestive problems, explains Dr. Christophe Lequart, a dental surgeon.
It's easy to improve your breath and keep your teeth and gums healthy at the same time. Try these simple steps for fresh breath and a healthy mouth.
1. Brush your teeth more often or use Densine™.
Plaque, build-up on your teeth, bacteria that cause bad breath and trapped food also add to the problem.
Brush at least twice a day and pass. If you want fresh breath, take care of your mouth like you take care of your hair!
Be careful not to overdo it, though. Brushing too hard can wear out your teeth and make them vulnerable to cavities.
2. Rinse your mouth.
In addition to freshening your breath, a mouthwash adds extra protection by removing bacteria. A fresh mint taste can make you feel good.
But make sure the mouthwash you choose kills the germs that cause bad breath. Don't just cover the smell. Rinse daily with a good mouthwash and stop bad breath at the source.
You can also improve your breath if you rinse your mouth with water after eating. It can remove food particles stuck in your teeth, of course brushing your teeth is still the best solution.
3. Scratch your tongue with TONGY™.
The coating that normally forms on your tongue can be a host for smelly bacteria. To get rid of it, gently rub your tongue with your toothbrush or a tongue scraper.
" They are specially designed to apply even pressure to the surface of the tongue. This removes bacteria, food debris and dead cells that brushing alone cannot treat," said Pamela L. Quinones, past president of the American Dental Hygienists Association.
4. 4. Avoid foods that sour your breath.
Onions and garlic are big offenders. But brushing after eating them doesn't help.
The substances that cause their unpleasant odors get into your bloodstream and travel to your lungs, where you exhale them," said dentist Richard Price, a spokesman for the American Dental Association.
The best way to stop the problem? Don't eat them, or at least avoid them before going to work or seeing friends!
5. Give up smoking.
In addition to causing cancer, smoking can damage your gums, stain your teeth and give you bad breath.
Over-the-counter nicotine patches can help control cravings. If you need a little help, make an appointment with your doctor to discuss smoking cessation programs or prescription medications that can help you quit smoking for good.
6. 6. Avoid mints after dinner and chew gum instead.
The bacteria in your mouth like sugar. They use it to make acid. It carries teeth and causes bad breath. Chew sugarless gum instead.
"Gum stimulates saliva, which is the mouth's natural defense mechanism against the acids in plaque that cause tooth decay and bad breath," says Quinones.
7. Keep your gums healthy.
Gum disease causes bad breath. Bacteria collect in pockets at the base of your teeth, creating an unpleasant odour.
8. Moisten your mouth.
You can get tooth decay and bad breath if you don't make enough saliva. If your mouth is dry, drink plenty of water during the day.
Chew sugarless gum or suck sugarless hard candy. Also try a humidifier at night to moisten the air in your home.
9. Clean your teeth with Densine™.
Plaque and tartar. Bacteria naturally present in the mouth try as hard as they can to break it down, but the problem is that they produce volatile sulphur compounds at the same time, which are particularly nauseating . They're the ones responsible for bad breath.
